History-Research Paper Information & Schedule

ELA-We’re reading a novel together. We’ll be examining the story and supporting our thoughts with details from the story.

Science-4th graders are studying electricity and magnets as well as preparing for the NYS science testing (5/31 and 6/4). 5th graders are helping the 4th graders prepare for the test. 5th graders are also working on a special project.

Homework Alerts: Students are working on RESPONSIBILITY. Part of their job as students is to record, do, and turn in homework on time. If HW is not turned in on time, the student will receive a Homework Alert that must be signed by a parent and turned in with the late assignment.

Late Work Policy: Work that is 1 day late loses 25%. Work that is 2 days late loses 50%. Work that is 3 days late loses 75%. Work that is not turned in by the end of the 3rd day is a zero in the gradebook. Any late work must be accompanied by a Homework Alert to receive credit.

Under 80 Test Correction Policy: Students may make corrections (rewritten on separate paper) to earn back half the points on any graded assignment 80 or below. Corrections are due the next school day.

Word of Life Christian Academy serves families in over 10 school districts.

Each family is responsible for the transportation of students to and from the Academy. New York State public school busing is available to students who live within a 15 mile radius of WOLCA. Parents must submit their bus request to their district’s bus garage each year by April 1st.

WOLCA Extended Hours
